Privacy Policy

StockUp is operated by SpendWise Apps ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the StockUp app ("the App") and how we use it.

Information We Collect

StockUp can be used either anonymously (the default) or with an optional account. The information we collect depends on how you choose to use the App.

Always Collected

• Anonymous identifier - a randomly generated ID created on your device, used to sync your data across sessions. It is not linked to your identity unless you choose to sign in.
• List and Cart - the products you save to your List (the products you save so StockUp can watch their prices) and the items in your Cart, synced to our servers so they persist across sessions.
• Preferences - your preferred retailer (Coles or Woolworths) and preferred store, if you choose to set them.
• Push notification token and preferences - if you opt in to push notifications, we store a device token to deliver them, along with per-type preference flags (List drop alerts, catalogue announcements, last-day reminders, and weekly specials) so you can choose which types of notifications you receive.
• Feedback and product reports - if you choose to submit feedback or report incorrect data, we store your message along with basic device information (device model, OS version, app version) to help us investigate issues.
• Crash and error data - if the App crashes, diagnostic information is sent to our error monitoring service to help us fix bugs.
• Technical data - when the App communicates with our servers, your IP address and standard request headers may be automatically logged by our infrastructure providers as part of normal server operations.

If You Sign In

StockUp offers optional sign-in using your email address, Apple ID, or Google account. Signing in lets you access your List, Cart, and preferences from any device. If you sign in, we additionally collect:

• Email address - used to identify your account and (for email sign-in) deliver one-time sign-in links.
• Display name - provided automatically by Apple or Google during sign-in, or optionally entered yourself for email sign-in.
• Sign-in provider identifier - a unique identifier from Apple or Google so we can recognise you on future sign-ins.

If You Subscribe to StockUp Premium

If you purchase a StockUp Premium subscription, we additionally collect:

• Subscription state - your subscription status (active / lapsed / cancelled), plan tier (monthly or yearly), and the current period's renewal or expiry date, so we can unlock premium features in the App.
• RevenueCat customer identifier - a non-identifying ID that links your purchase to your StockUp account. Apple and Google process the actual payment; we never receive or store your payment card or billing details.

If You Use Quick Cart

Quick Cart is a StockUp Premium feature that sends your Cart to your Coles or Woolworths trolley inside an in-app browser, where you sign in with your own retailer credentials. We never see, collect, or store your retailer username, password, or session tokens.

When you complete a checkout through Quick Cart, we save a record of that purchase on our servers - the retailer and store, the date, the items and prices, and the order total - so it appears in your purchase history and savings tracking. To do this we read back the line items of orders you complete using each retailer's own APIs, the same ones its website uses.

If You Use Smart Shop

Smart Shop is a StockUp Premium feature for shopping in person. When you start a shop we record which retailer and store you selected, so we can fetch that store's live prices and stock availability. Selecting a store for a shop does not change your saved preferred store.

When you finish a shop, we save a record of it on our servers - the retailer and store, the date, and the items you ticked off with their prices - so it appears in your purchase history and savings tracking. You can choose Don't record when finishing, in which case nothing is saved.

If You See Ads

The free version of StockUp is supported by advertising, delivered by Google AdMob. Ads appear in search results, category browsing, the List tab and product pages. Home, your Cart and your profile are ad-free for everyone, and StockUp Premium removes ads entirely.

When ads are shown, Google may collect and process information to serve and measure them, including your device's advertising identifier (the IDFA on iOS or the Advertising ID on Android), general device and app information, and approximate (not precise) location derived from your IP address. This is governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours - we do not receive this data.

On iOS, we ask before any tracking happens. Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt appears first, and if you decline, your advertising identifier is not shared. Where required, you will also see a consent prompt letting you choose between personalised and non-personalised ads, and you can change that choice at any time. You can reset or disable your advertising identifier in your device settings.

StockUp does not share your List, Cart, purchase history, email address, or account details with advertisers.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or payment information. We do not collect or store your Coles or Woolworths account credentials, session cookies, or any other authentication data for those retailers.

How We Use Your Information

• Sync your List, Cart, and preferences across sessions and devices
• Authenticate signed-in users via email, Apple, or Google sign-in
• Send the push notification types you've opted into (List drop alerts, catalogue announcements, last-day reminders, weekly specials)
• Manage your StockUp Premium subscription state and unlock premium features in the App
• Build your purchase history and savings tracking when you use Quick Cart or Smart Shop
• Show ads in the free version of the App, and remove them for Premium subscribers
• Respond to feedback and fix reported product data issues
• Diagnose and fix crashes and bugs

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Supabase - database and authentication
• Google Sign-In - used only if you choose to sign in with your Google account
• RevenueCat - subscription management infrastructure
• Sentry - crash and error monitoring
• Expo - push notification delivery
• Apple Push Notification Service / Firebase Cloud Messaging - push notification delivery on iOS and Android respectively
• Google AdMob - advertising in the free version of the App (not used for StockUp Premium subscribers)

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as you use the App. You can delete individual items from your List and Cart at any time.

If you are signed in: you can permanently delete your account and all associated data (List, Cart, preferences, push tokens, feedback, product reports, purchase history, and any subscription record) at any time from the Profile tab. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

If you are using anonymously: uninstalling the App or clearing its data will permanently disconnect you from your data on our servers, and we will have no way to link it back to you. Anonymous accounts that have not been used for 90 days are automatically deleted from our servers, including all associated data.

You can also use our Account Deletion page to request deletion by email. We will process your request within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. No identifying information is required to use the App.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
